Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.**_ 4 THINGS: The Promise, The Provider, The Power, & The Privilege of Prevailing Peace ## INTRODUCTION ### A. **STATISTICS:** * In the past 3400 years, the world has known only about 300 years of peace. That is only eight percent of that time was spent in peace. * More than 8,000 treaties of peace, meant to last forever, were broken. They remained in force an average of only two years. * Over the last 225 years, the United States has been involved in approximately 225 wars, according to the United States Census Bureau. * WAR DEFIES LOGIC In 1960, a U.S. military research team studied ways of avoiding another major war. During its research, the team fed a computer all the data on World War I. The computer responded with the assertion that **World War I was an impossibility**, that it never really happened! Jas 4:1 ¶_ From whence come wars and fightings among you? come they not hence, even of your lusts that war in your members?_ * Tormented Minds, Restless, Troubled, Noisome > **Phil. 4:7 _And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus._** ### B. **DEFINITION: ** **Hebrew** = SHALOM; greet and bid farewell; complete peace.
