The Baptism of the Holy Ghost is More than a Principle

Matthew 3:11 — I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire:

The promise of the Father is that the Holy Ghost will come upon us and indwell us.

  • Ephesians 4:3; Colossians 3:14-16
  • HOLY SPIRIT: The Holy Spirit has no flesh. Is not a man, but is a "person"/"personal" and is a "spirit"
  • The Baptism of the Holy Ghost is not to be made out to be an industry of man.
  • The Baptism of the Holy Ghost is not to be orchestrated by human affair and management.

Ephesians 4:4,5 — There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; 5 One Lord, one faith, one baptism,

  • You cannot be born again without the Holy Ghost. You cannot become saved or remain saved without the work of the Holy Ghost in us.
  • "Born Again" is an interpretation of "Born from Above" "Born of God" "Born of the Spirit." "Born into family" (Mark 1:8; Matthew 3:16; Acts 1:5)
  • Christ dwells in our heart through faith; The Holy Ghost dwells in our heart through faith. Salvation is a gift. The Baptism of the Holy Ghost is a a gift
  • You do not have a gift of "eternal life" without Jesus. If Christ does not remain in you, you lose eternal life as well. We need the Holy ghost DWELLING IN US. Do not be afraid of the Holy Ghost.
  • Holy Ghost Baptism is not "automatic" with regeneration. The Baptism of the Holy Ghost is a gift subsequent to regeneration.
  • Ephesians 1:13,14 -- You do not recieve PERFECTION in being once Baptized by the Holy Ghost. YOu receive the "earnest" of that inheritance of PERFECTION / COMPLETE SALVATION.

Acts 19:1 — And it came to pass, that, while Apollos was at Corinth, Paul having passed through the upper coasts came to Ephesus: and finding certain disciples, 2 He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost. 3 And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John's baptism. 4 Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus. 5 When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. 6 And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied. 7 And all the men were about twelve.

  • prophesied: speak under inspiration. tongues: illustrates the universality of the gospel message. 1 Corinthians 14:27-28 ... order and intelligibility in worship.
  • The Holy Ghost in us causing us to grow. Being led by the Spirit is going to IDENTIFY who you are. Romans 8:14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

1 Corinthians 12:12,13 — For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ. 13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.

  • Born into the Family. Baptized into the Body.

1 Corinthians 12:18-20 — But now hath God set the members every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased him. 19 And if they were all one member, where were the body? 20 But now are they many members, yet but one body.

1 Corinthians 12:27-31 — Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular. 28 And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues. 29 Are all apostles? are all prophets? are all teachers? are all workers of miracles? 30 Have all the gifts of healing? do all speak with tongues? do all interpret? 31 But covet earnestly the best gifts: and yet shew I unto you a more excellent way.

Acts 2:38 — Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

  • Compare: Acts 10:47-48; 19:5

Acts 22:16 — And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord.

  • compare: 1 Corinthians 1:14,16

Galatians 3:27 — For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.
