The Purchased Possession

Ephesians 1:14 — Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.

Matthew 13:44-46 — Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto treasure hid in a field; the which when a man hath found, he hideth, and for joy thereof goeth and selleth all that he hath, and buyeth that field. 45 Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a merchant man, seeking goodly pearls: 46 Who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had, and bought it.

We are His By Promise, By Price, By Power

I. We are His By Promise   “our inheritance”     “heirs”

1 John 2:25 And this is the promise that he hath promised us, even eternal life.

1 John 5:11 And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son

Eph 3:6 That the Gentiles should be fellowheirs, and of the same body, and partakers of his promise in Christ by the gospel:

Ro 12:5 So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another.

1 Co 10:17 For we being many are one bread, and one body: for we are all partakers of that one bread.

1Co 12:27 ¶ Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.

Eph 1:23 Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.

II. We are His By the Price of His own Blood

Ephesians 1:7 — In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;

1Ti 2:6 Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.

Ro 5:6 ¶ For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.

Titus 2:14 Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.

1Cor 1:6 Even as the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you:

1Co 1:30 But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:

III. We are His By The Power of God

Acts 1:8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

1 Corinthians 1:18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.

1 Corinthians 2:1 ¶ And I, brethren, when I came to you, came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God.

1 Corinthians 6:14 — And God hath both raised up the Lord, and will also raise up us by his own power.

2 Corinthians 6:7 — By the word of truth, by the power of God, by the armour of righteousness on the right hand and on the left,

1 Timothy 6:15 — Which in his times he shall shew, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords;

Luke 1:52 — He hath put down the mighty from their seats, and exalted them of low degree.

1 Peter 1:5 — Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

PROMISE - Abram Genesis 13:15; 26:2-4  “Unto thy seed”

Genesis 12:6 — And Abram passed through the land unto the place of Sichem, unto the plain of Moreh. And the Canaanite was then in the land.7 And the LORD appeared unto Abram, and said, Unto thy seed will I give this land: and there builded he an altar unto the LORD, who appeared unto him.>
