Christians need to realize the importance of consuming The Word, obeying

The Word, and applying The Word of God to their lives.

 

I. THROUGH CONSUMING THE WORD OF GOD

 

A. Power of God unto Salvation – Rom. 1:16

 

1. Received by faith in The Word – II Tim. 3:15

 

2. Transforming lives

 

3. Born of The Word – John 3:5, I Peter 1:23

 

B. Power to overcome sin – Ps. 119:11

 

1. To live right

 

2. There is strength in The Word

 

C. Power to cleanse a life – Eph. 5:26

 

1. A continued work of Sanctification

 

a. Separated from the world

 

b. Set apart for God’s service

 

2. Truth will break the bondages of hell – John 8:32

 

D. Establish a daily routine of Bible Reading

 

II. THROUGH OBEYING THE WORD OF GOD

 

A. An absolute faith in the infallible Word of God

 

1. It is inspired – GOD BREATHED – II Tim. 3:16

II Peter 1: 19-21

2. God’s Word is powerful – Heb. 4:12

 

B. God’s Word must be the final authority in our lives  

1. Not led by feelings and emotions

 

a. The devil uses senses to control a life

 

b. Many are being deceived by their feelings

 

2. Not given to carnal reasoning – Rom. 8:6-7

 

a. The carnal mind can not receive from God

I Cor. 2:13-14

 

b. Man can not figure out God

3. A total surrender to The Word of God

 

C. God honors obedience to His Word

 

1. Answered prayer – John 15:7

 

2. Will yield the Blessing of God – Pr. 10:22

 

III. THROUGH APPLYING THE WORD OF GOD

 

A. Doers of The Word – James 1:22

 

1. Daily practicing God’s Word in our lives

 

2. Many are deceiving themselves

 

B. Speak The Word of God in Faith

 

1. Don’t dwell on the problem – II Cor. 4:18, 5:7

 

2. Hold to the promise of God – II Cor. 1:20

 

C. Speak as God Speaks

1. Worlds framed by The Word of God – Heb. 11:3

 

2. To overcome the devil – Rev. 12:11

 

a. Their testimony

 

b. They spoke The Word

 

D. Partakers of The Divine Nature – II Peter 1:4

 

1. This is the Word of God

 

2. Through the Promises of God

 

a. Understanding the promises

 

b. Practicing the Promises

3. To take hold of the Divine Nature

 

a. Through faith in The Word
