“Then Agrippa said unto Paul, Almost thou persuadest me to be a Christian.”  (Act 26:28)

 

I. RELIGIOUS PERSON

 

A. Aggrippa was a Jew

 

1. Paul said he knew the prophets

2. Familiar with the customs of the Jews

3. Knew about Christ (death and resurrection)

B. A form of Godliness

 

1. Goes to Church (Doesn’t make a Christian)

2. Emotional ritual

 

C. A head knowledge

 

1. Knows about God

2. Knows the Bible

 

D. Religion will send you to Hell

II. EXCUSES OF THE ALMOST CHRISTIAN

 

A. Someday I’ll serve God

1. I’m not ready

2. I’m having too much fun

 

B. I’m as good as everybody else

 

C. I don’t have time for Church

 

1. I watch Church on TV

2. I need to sleep on Sundays

 

D. God won’t send me to hell

E. God sees my heart

 

F. I’ve got too much to lose

 

1. Aggrippa didn’t want to lose what he had

2. I don’t want to give it up

 

III. THE LIFE OF THE ALMOST CHRISTIAN

 

A. Almost gets up to pray

 

B. Almost reads the Bible

 

C. Almost goes to Church

 

D. Almost comes out of the world

 

E. Almost shares the Gospel

 

IV. RESULTS OF THE ALMOST CHRISTIAN

 

A. Almost has victory

 

B. Almost delivered

 

1. Struggle to live right

2. Not experiencing total liberty

 

C. Almost has peace

 

D. Almost has joy

 

E. ALMOST GO TO HEAVEN

 

1. Sin – miss the mark

 

2. Aggrippa is still in Hell
