RECEIVING OUR INHERITANCE

 

Joshua 1:1-13

I Peter 1:3-5

 

The Christian must understand that God has a plan to reveal the fullness of our inheritance in these last days.

I. THE PROMISE OF OUR INHERITANCE

 

A. The conditions of the promise.

 

Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. - II Peter 1:4

 

1. God requires obedience to His Word.

 

2. God will work in His time.

 

For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us. - II Corinthians 1:20

 

 

B. Understanding the promise.

 

1. You will not believe for what you do not understand.

 

2. Revealed by the Holy Spirit. – I Cor. 2:14

 

C. Believing for the fulfillment of the promise.

 

1. Faith looks for what is not seen.

 

2. Wait for the answer.

 

II. THE PROVISION OF OUR INHERITANCE

 

A. The price has already been paid.

 

1. Paid in full by the blood of the Lamb.

 

2. The reservation has been made.

 

B. The time has been set by God.

 

1. There will be an end time manifestation of God’s power.

 

2. We are in the last days.

 

C. A Supernatural work of God.

 

1. God will do what we can not do.

 

2. God will drive out the enemy before us.

 

 

III. THE POSSESION OF OUR INHERITANCE

 

A. Through an action of faith

 

1. Israel had to posses the land.

 

2. Press in to take hold of what belongs to us. – Mt. 11: 12

 

B. There will be battles to fight.

 

1. Drive off the enemy

 

2. The flesh is the enemy of God.

 

C. In these last days God will manifest his power.

 

1. God promised to pour out His Spirit in the last days.

 

2. The inheritance will be revealed in the last days.
