Jewish Messiah

Introduction
THEME: According to the Scriptures Jesus is the Messiah; the Son of God manifested in the flesh.
Proverbs 18:13 — He that answereth a matter before he heareth it, it is folly and shame unto him.
2. God is One —
When Scripture says "one" it is speaking of a compound unity. It cannot be anything less.
Genesis 1:1 — In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
"God" Elohiym (a plural noun) Gods
"Create" Bara (a singular verb)
Genesis 1:26 "And God said, Let Us make man in Our image, after Our likeness…" (The Chumash)
Deuteronomy 6:4 "Hear, O Israel: Hashem is our God, Hashem is the One and Only." (The Chumash)
"Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD." (KJV)
"LORD" Yehovah self-existent - eternal
"God" Elohiym (a plural noun)
"Yehovah" is God's covenant name.
God is one, but Three in One — God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.
4. Scripture References to the Messiah
Genesis 3:15 "…he shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel." This is the promise that the Messiah would come and destroy the devil's power.
Psalm 2:7 "…Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee."
Psalm 45:6-7 "Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: the sceptre of thy kingdom is a right sceptre. Thou lovest righteousness, and hatest wickedness: therefore God, thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows."
Psalm 110:1 "The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool."

Isaiah 42:1 "Behold my servant, whom I uphold; mine elect, in whom my soul delighteth; I have put my spirit upon him: he shall bring forth judgment to the Gentiles."
Isaiah 49:7 "Thus saith the LORD, the Redeemer of Israel, and His Holy One, to Him Whom man despiseth, to Him Whom the nation abhorreth, to a servant of rulers, Kings shall see and arise, princes also shall worship, because of the LORD that is faithful, and the Holy One of Israel, and He shall choose thee."
Jeremiah 23:5-6 "Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will raise unto David a righteous Branch, and a King shall reign and prosper, and shall execute judgment and justice in the earth. In His days Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell safely: and this is His name whereby He shall be called, THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS."
Daniel 7:13-14 "I saw in the night visions, and, behold, one like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him. And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve him: his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed."
Zechariah 9:9 "Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy King cometh unto thee: he is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass."
Malachi 3:1 "Behold, I will send My messenger, and he shall prepare the way before Me: and the Lord, Whom ye seek, shall suddenly come to His temple, even the messenger of the covenant, whom ye delight in: behold, he shall come, saith the LORD of hosts."
5. The Birth of the Messiah
The Time of His Birth
Daniel 9:25 "Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times."
Ezra 1:1-2 "Now in the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, that the word of the LORD by the mouth of Jeremiah might be fulfilled, the LORD stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, that he made a proclamation throughout all his kingdom, and put it also in writing, saying, Thus saith Cyrus king of Persia, The LORD God of heaven hath given me all the kingdoms of the earth; and He hath charged me to build Him an house at Jerusalem, which is in Judah."

The starting time to reckon from as stated by Daniel the prophet from the "Going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem."

The King of Persia, Cyrus, in 457 B.C. issued the command in writing to build God a house in Jerusalem.

(Subtracting the 69 weeks of years) 483 years would bring you to the year 26 A.D. which was around the year that the Messiah would be anointed.

Micah 5:2 "But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall He come forth unto Me that is to be ruler in Israel; Whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting."

The Nature of His Birth
Isaiah 7:14 "Therefore the Lord Himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call His name Immanuel."
"Im"- with "Anu" - us "El" - God
God incarnated — God born of a virgin — God born of flesh.
Isaiah 9:6 "For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
"The mighty" Gibbowr Powerful — Mighty
"God" El The Almighty God
The Messiah, born of a virgin, incarnated in flesh, and dwelt amongst us as a man.

The Purpose of His Birth

To destroy the devil's power.
