Doing the Will of God Well

Doing the will of God well

Matthew 25:14-30

INTRODUCTION

Our value and success can only be measured in our profitability to God. Are we effective in our calling? Are we of any profit to Gods kingdom? Or, are we a liability? Many gifted and exceptional people have lived wasted lives and were rendered INEFFECTIVE because their primary concern was not their profitability to God.

2 Timothy 4:11 mark... Is profitable to me for the ministry

--> we must clear the table of our ambitions and be committed to a single great task: **DOING THE WILL OF GOD, WELL.**

**I. Live a Cross-Centered Life (not seeking a path of least resistance)**

** --**every step Christ took was in the shadow of a cross. Swaddling clothes, my time is not yet, I must go to jerusalem,

We must not run from yhe reproach of christ the gospel the cross, WE MUST EMBRACE IT. "i will cherish the old rugged cross"

**II. Specialize in Your Calling (_this one thing I do)_**

** **--i am a preacher, carpentry is just something I do to pay bills. Billy Graham "God never called me to build a university" "thats all you ever talk about! - well, that is all i have to say!"
  • Make people so busy that they have no time to pray

    III.Be Passionate in Your Mission

** --**believe and rest in your calling. "i must be about my fathers business" "i am doing a great work and cannot come down" EVERYTHING DONE FOR GOD SHOULD BE DONE OUT OF A PURE HEART FERVENTLY. "attempt great things for God; Expect great things from God. "Give me this mountain" 2. Samuel 23:12 shammah stood in the midst of the ground and defended it. Can words like the following be used when describing my Christian testimony: zealous, passionate, on fire, fully persuaded, committed, revolutionary?

60+ Apostle Paul defended his faith, worshipped God and exalted Christ Acts 24:14-16,24

80 year old Daniel

Daniel 5:12 Forasmuch as an excellent spirit, and knowledge, and understanding, interpreting of dreams, and shewing of hard sentences, and **dissolving of doubts**, were found in the same Daniel, whom the king named Belteshazzar: now let Daniel be called, and he will shew the interpretation.
  • Make people so busy that they have no passion if they pray

IV. Keep a Standard of Excellence in God's Work

--Gods will must always be done Gods way. Implicit obedience required. Never move the line of Gods expectation. Present the Gospel exActly as Christ did accomodating for no one. "strait and narrow is the wAy ENTER YE IN" sin will always render us ineffective. Sin cripples my ministry: solomon saul samson judas abram jacob. Zero tolerance for sin in any measure in any place. Never make an excuse for sin in any form , make an altar. What saith the Scripture? Should resolve any debate for me.

--the unfaithful servant APPEARED busy (burying or sowing) but bear nNO FRUIT. Entirely unprofitable to his master.

    V. Be Faithful and Flexible in Your Ministry

--Always be found in your place and be ready to change your plans.

CONCLUSION

. Am I content with a good excuse why we I'm not effective in bringing Christ to MY generation?

-- the world is too sinful

--the devil is too busy

Or am I committed to doing the will of God WELL. Exactly as God intended. To be EFFECTIVE. Influence not just a debate be transformstive change. Turn the world upside down. I want God to see a profitable servant in me.

The profit of spreading the truth everyday shows up in the life of the believer.

Mt 25:30 “And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness”

Pursue what is profitable not just allowable

Pursue what is most profitable

Jer 2:11 Hath a nation changed their gods, which are yet no gods? but my people have changed their glory for that which doth not profit.

God gave the privilege to the Jews to profit in the opportunity of leadership in spreading the truth among the Gentiles.

Ro 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

3:1 What advantage then hath the Jew? or what profit is there of circumcision?

2 Much every way: chiefly, because that unto them were committed the oracles of God.

23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

The opportunity of leadership in spreading the truth to this generation is upon us!!!

Many, most will miss their opportunity, some won’t.

Mt 25:28 Take therefore the talent from him, and give it unto him which hath ten talents.

The Profitable servant walking in the light to the praise of the Glory of God’s Grace is abundantly blessed to do the Will of God well.
