Argument Response
This is a "Royal We" or the "Plural of Majesty". The "royal we" is never found in the writings of the ancient middle east. The plural of majesty is an European phenomenon.
The "us" is God speaking to the angels. Man is not made in the image nor likeness of angels. Man is made uniquely in the image of God.

Water Baptism Verses

  • Among the Jews, the controversy was about the true Messiah, while among the Gentiles, about the true God. Asserting Jesus in baptism to the Jews who would most be most resistent to Jesus over the Spirit and the Father.
  • The Acts baptismal verses by deviating ffrom the langauge of Matthew 28:19, demonstrate that Water Baptism was not in its nature an incantation or mystical rite. Water Baptism was and is a testimony, a confession and an obedience to be completed following the inward, spiritual, God caused change called regeneration.

Summary Thoughts

  • The God whom we worship is one God who exists as a Trinity — "One God in Three Persons"
  • There is only one God.
  • The Father is God, the Son is God and the Holy Ghost is God.
  • The Father , Son and Holy Ghost are eternally distinct.
  • The Father, Son and Holy Ghost are Co-Equal

"The Father hath revealed himself in the old covenant; the Son in the new; in human flesh by his miracles, doctrine, resurrection and ascension; the Holy Ghost in his gifts and miracles. Thus the doctrine of the ever blessed Trinity grew by degrees to full maturity. For the arriving to the acknowledgment of which, it was incumbent upon all who professed the true God to be three in one to be baptized into his name." — LIGHTFOOT'S Works, vol. ii. p. 274.

  • What is Modalism? Modalism says:

There is only one God who sometimes appears in the form of the Father, other times as Son or Holy Spirit. This can be analogized with water as: liquid, solid, or vapor.
