I Have Peace in God's Hands

Preached at the Deliverance Center, Arundel, Maine on October 1, 2023.

text: Romans 5:1

Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:

A most dangerous lie is being spread that, for whatever reasons, man does not NEED God.

Man not only needs God, but in God is the only source of lasting peace. It is a life of turmoil that struggles against God. This resistance is futile as every knee will bow.

On the other hand, having peace with God means peace in our soul. There is no greater peace than that found in working in harmony with God instead of struggling against His will.

There are four pictures at least given in Scripture of the people of God being in His hands.

1. Clay in the Potters Hand

Isa 64:8 But now, O LORD, thou art our father; we are the clay, and thou our potter; and we all are the work of thy hand.

2. A Trumpet to Sound Forth a Certain Sound

1Co 14:8,9 For if the trumpet give an uncertain sound, who shall prepare himself to the battle? 9 So likewise ye, except ye utter by the tongue words easy to be understood, how shall it be known what is spoken? for ye shall speak into the air.

3. A Nail in a Sure Place

Isa 22:23 And I will fasten him as a nail in a sure place; and he shall be for a glorious throne to his father's house.

4. A Light in a Dark Place

Mt 5:14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.
