Changes Before the Rain

“God gives us a timely word that produces faith.”

Changes Before the Rain

Hosea 10:12 Sow to yourselves in righteousness, reap in mercy; break up your fallow ground: for it is time to seek the Lord, till He come and rain righteousness upon you.

Acts 3:19 Repent ye therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come form the presence of the Lord; [so there may come a season of refreshing...]

INTRODUCTION

Why doesn’t it effect us like it use to?

The rain will effect GREAT CHANGE of it’s own. But before the RAIN are also changes that are made to better receive the rain.

Correct, “I turned this camp around.” Stephen, turned himself around, the rest is up to you.

I. SOWING & BREAKING

A. BREAKING UP YOUR FALLOW GROUND

The fallow are the UNDISTURBED areas of your heart. Farmers allow land to rest so that it may become more fruitful. But a lack of attention, results in an overgrowth of thorns and weeds. (Tillable but UNTILLED)

!!! SOW NOT AMONG THORNS.

Jeremiah 4:3 break up your fallow ground, and so not among thorns ===== WHY???

- The Seed Will Produce the Will of God, thorns choke it out (God must not be moving anymore like He used to…)

- What was intended for LIFE will produce JUDGMENT. (Ananias and Sapphira)

Break up the fallow ground

Break off evil habits, clear the weeds and roots.

B. so to yourselves in righteousness

Sow Good seed

Acts 3:19 Repent ye therefore and be converted...

Reap in Mercy (Faith & Obedience)

III. IT IS TIME TO SEEK THE LORD till He come…

How do we know it is time for the rain ???

Just because we set a date on a calendar for youth camp, it does not obligate God one bit to show up! It is only for God when the rain comes, but it is ours to seek HIM until He sends it!

I don’t feel anything… Do we need it? … I don’t see it … seek the LORD...

-----Sensitivity to the Spirit

- Change in pressure

- Subtle

- Some know it’s coming but most don’t

- A SOUND

1 Kings 18:41-45 (Before a rain, Elijah heard a sound!)

1 Kings 18:41 …Get thee up, eat and drink; for there is a sound of abundance of rain.

vs. 44 prepare they chariot and get thee down, that the rain stop thee not.

vs. 45 ...there was a great rain.

There is preaching, there is singing, there is testimony, but then there is a different sound to it when God is about to send the rain.

Ahab prepare your chariot and get thee down...

CONCLUSION

Acts 2 - What’s it look like?

Acts 1:8 - What’s it do? (dynamite power)
